About Me

Short Bio

I am currently a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at Sussex anthropology (2022-2025); during the fellowship period I will start a new research project focusing on the multilayered traces of mass political violence in Beirut, Lebanon.

I have previously been the recipient of a LabEx HaStec postdoctoral fellowship (2021-2022), during which I worked at the CéSor, where I am an affiliated postdoctoral researcher on the programme SHAKK and a co-editor-in-chief of the Lexicon of the Syrian revolution and war.

In addition, I am a honorary research fellow at UCL anthropology and a visiting fellow at the MRU, where I hold a one-year fellowship on Prof. Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh’s ERC and ESRC projects on Syrian displacement in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. I am also an affiliated researcher at LLCP Paris 8 where, I have taught on the decolonization of anthropology and MENA studies.
